On November 3, 2023, the planting of 680 trees in Marismas del Odiel became a reality thanks to Gañafote Cup and with the support of the Junta de Andalucía.

Fifteen volunteers from the Provincial Red Cross of Huelva have planted 680 trees in Llanos de Bacuta, in the Marismas del Odiel Biosphere Reserve, as a result of the collaboration between the Territorial Delegation of Sustainability, Environment and Blue Economy and the Gañafote Cup international grassroots soccer tournament.
The organization of the championship included in its last edition a social action with an environmental conservation purpose in coordination with the Junta de Andalucía. Recyclable cups were put on sale and the proceeds were to be used for the expansion of tree masses in protected natural areas and the regeneration of degraded areas or areas affected by forest fires. "In this framework of collaboration we move forward in the creation of a typical coastal forest of the coast of Huelva on a sediment land," explained the territorial delegate of Sustainability, Environment and Blue Economy, Pedro Yórquez.
Thanks to all the municipalities and institutions such as the Junta or the Diputación Provincial de Huelva that make this tournament possible.
