The Adiur team will be one of more than 200 teams competing in Huelva in the Gañafote Cup Finals in March, alongside the world’s best clubs. It won the qualifying round the municipality of Funes, Argentina, where eight teams competed.
After defeating Hughes FC 6-1 in the final, the team secured a direct berth in the Final Phase. The tournament was held at the facilities of Grupo Ekipo, a partner of the Gañafote Cup in this South American country, where all signs point to a South American Gañafote Cup competition being held next year. Joaquín Rasco, the international general manager of the Gañafote Cup, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome in Argentina, and especially to Grupo Ekipo, “in one of the places in the world where soccer is experienced with the most passion.”
Nacho Scocco, a Copa Libertadores champion with River Plate, was in attendance at the tournament. Also present was Fabián Soldini, the man who brought Messi to F.C. Barcelona.
