The Junta plants 680 trees in Marismas del Odiel in Huelva for its collaboration with the Gañafote Cup. Fifteen volunteers from the Red Cross of Huelva have planted 680 trees in Llanos de Bacuta, in the Marismas del Odiel Biosphere Reserve, as a result of the collaboration between the Territorial Delegation of Sustainability, Environment and Blue Economy and the international grassroots football tournament Gañafote Cup. The organisation of the championship included in its last edition a social action with an environmental conservation aim in coordination with the Junta de Andalucía. For this reason, in all the venues with canteens (bars) recyclable plastic cups were put on sale and with the profit generated the organisation of the Gañafote Cup committed to planting trees in the province of Huelva.
RECYCLED GLASSES = REFORESTATION
Highlighting the formative nature of the tournament that goes beyond the competition and also highlighting this public-private collaboration, Joaquín Rasco, CEO of Gañafote, and Pedro Yórquez, delegate for Sustainability, Environment and Blue Economy, have proudly celebrated this day in which the Marismas del Odiel grove grows thanks also to the volunteers of the Red Cross.
Around 900 specimens of native species of the area such as junipers, cork oaks, holm oaks, or wild olive trees, among others. Gañafote Cup, something more than a football championship.
