A tournament that crosses borders

Since its inception, the Gañafote Cup has had a clear purpose: to offer a sporting, educational and human experience that transcends the field of play. What began as a local project has now become a global benchmark for grassroots soccer, bringing together elite clubs, academies and promising young players from all five continents.

In 2026, the tournament will have more than 500 international teams participating in the qualifying and final stages. Countries such as the United States, Italy, Chile, Colombia and Canada will be part of the Gañafote Cup circuit, which is projected as a global showcase for young talent and sport with values.

"The goal has always been clear: to bring the name of Huelva to the world, but also to bring the world to Huelva," highlighted Joaquín Rasco, CEO of the tournament, during the official presentation.

Huelva, home and heart of grassroots soccer

The Gañafote Cup 2026 not only represents a first class sporting event, but also an economic and social engine for the whole province. Municipalities such as Beas, Bonares, San Juan del Puerto, Niebla, Trigueros, Palos de la Frontera, Cartaya and Moguer will join as official venues of the tournament, offering their facilities, hospitality and commitment to the sport.

The forecasts are encouraging: more than 40,000 visitors during the days of the tournament, an economic impact that will exceed two million euros and a media repercussion that consolidates Huelva as a sports territory of reference.

Each edition of the Gañafote Cup reaffirms that grassroots soccer not only trains players, but also fosters communities, inspires young people and promotes shared values.

F.C. Barcelona arrives in Huelva

More than soccer: commitment, sustainability and values

The Gañafote Cup cannot be understood without its social and educational aspect. Beyond the ball, the tournament promotes values such as coexistence, respect, sustainability and solidarity.

Its initiatives include environmental programs, such as tree planting and carbon footprint offsetting, as well as solidarity actions with hospitals and local groups. "We want each edition to leave a positive footprint on the territory, not only sporting, but also human," Rasco stressed.

A dream that grows every year

With less than a year to go, the Gañafote Cup 2026 is preparing to write a new page in the history of grassroots soccer. What began as a dream in Huelva has now become an international platform for training, talent and values.

Because in the Gañafote Cup, each goal is an illusion, each child a story, and each edition an opportunity to continue growing together.
