The Gañafote Cup Kids, held recently in March in the province of Huelva, has brought an economic benefit that has exceeded 3.4 million euros; in global terms, adding the overnight stays, the average consumption of the participants, as well as that of their families.

 

This is the result of the assessment made by the organization at the end of this new championship, now in its eighth edition, which has brought together more than 220 teams from four continents and more than a dozen countries around the world, from the Arab Emirates to Argentina, passing through Europe and Africa.

"These are impressive figures for Huelva", highlights the general director of the Gañafote Cup, Joaquín Rasco', which only confirm that "this tournament goes beyond sports and becomes one of the most important of those held in the autonomous community of Andalusia, for its visits and international impact," he adds.

More than 3,400 participants have been accommodated by the organization itself in more than 15 hotels in the province of Huelva, with an average of four days of overnight stays, in addition to family members, general visits to the tournament or nearby clubs that have not needed hotel rooms; all this makes the sum of an average family expenditure and gives the figure of 3.4 million, for the more than 25,000 people who thanks to the Gañafote have been in Huelva from March 22 to 24.

As for the international communication of the tournament, accredited by 'Hallon' & Pandora, 248 news items have been published; 313.25 thousand euros in advertising value; 1.77 million euros in communication value; and a total of 24.6 million audience.

"These are really good data for the Huelva brand," says the head of Communications of the tournament, Manu Suero. "Let's think that more than 24 million people around the world have heard about the Gañafote Cup, generating a value in communication for the diffusion of the province of Huelva of more than one million seven hundred thousand euros". In his opinion, "these are figures that consolidate Gañafote as one of the most important sporting events in Andalusia," he adds.

A total of 15 public institutions and more than 20 private companies have been directly involved in the Gañafote Cup Kids .

The Gañafote Cup 2024 had as winners: AC Milan in Alevín 2012 Gold and Sevilla FC in up to five Gold categories: Alevín 2013, Benjamín 2014, Benjamín 2015, Prebenjamín and Femenino.

Among the participants, the best youth teams in the world, with teams like FC Barcelona, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Benfica, Brugge, AC Milan, Sporting Lisbon, Sporting Braga, Juventus, PSV, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Atletic Club de Bilbao, Villarreal, Rosario of Argentina or Hispania and Falcon of Dubai.

The province has had municipalities such as Huelva capital, Palos de la Frontera, Moguer, Rociana del Condado, Villablanca, Almonte, Ayamonte, Cartaya, Lepe and Aljaraque. It is an event that promotes and sells the Huelva brand as a tourist destination within and beyond our borders, with about 30,000 visitors in just 4 days.
