THE VALUES OF THE INCLUSIVE BASKETBALL SCHOOL
The inclusive basketball classroom allows the training of boys and girls with functional diversity in the practice of basketball and sports, providing the ability to develop regularly a complementary activity in their daily lives. It is a routine of physical exercise adapted to their conditions and they can interact with each other and interact with the rest of the athletes of the Basketball School favoring integration and mutual understanding.
The incorporation to this Basketball School of the AIB Project, an Inclusive Basketball Classroom that has become the great social project of the Enrique Benítez CBD since it is specialized in the training of children and adolescents who have some kind of intellectual or physical disability.
WHY AN INCLUSIVE SPORTS PROJECT?
The practice of sports, physical exercise, mobility, staying active, interaction or contact with other people and coexistence are elements that multiply the well-being and, above all, the social integration of children with some type of functional diversity.
For this reason, the Enrique Benítez CBD has created its Inclusive Basketball Classroom, a project of corporate social responsibility and involvement with the environment where we develop our activity.
The objective of this classroom is to ensure that the population that has some type of intellectual or physical disability has a place to practice sports, learn to play basketball and train with other young athletes and young people from our youth academy.
After 4 years of activity and experience, and due to the great demand for places in organizations that serve children and young people with some kind of functional diversity, the Inclusive Basketball School increases its activity and doubles the hours and days of coexistence and training.
The Aula Inclusiva de Baloncesto, a project created by Huelva Comercio LRi21-Viridis, CDB Enrique Benítez and with the support of Gañafote Cup, is a shining example of how sport can be an effective tool for social inclusion. This project seeks to create spaces for equality, respect and personal growth. As sport continues to evolve.
The future of sport is inclusive, and the Inclusive Basketball Classroom is the best example of this.
