THE VALUES OF THE INCLUSIVE BASKETBALL SCHOOL

The inclusive basketball program enables boys and girls with functional diversity to participate in basketball and other sports, providing them with the opportunity to regularly engage in a complementary activity as part of their daily lives. It consists of a physical exercise routine adapted to their needs, allowing them to interact with one another and build relationships with the other athletes at the Basketball School, thereby promoting integration and mutual understanding.

The addition of the AIB Project to this basketball school—an inclusive basketball program that has become CDB Enrique Benítez’s flagship social initiative—as it specializes in training children and adolescents with intellectual or physical disabilities.

WHY AN INCLUSIVE SPORTS PROJECT?

Participating in sports, physical exercise, mobility, staying active, interacting or having contact with others, and socializing are all factors that enhance well-being and, above all, the social integration of children with functional diversity.

For this reason, the Enrique Benítez Basketball Club has created its Inclusive Basketball Classroom, a corporate social responsibility project designed to foster engagement with the community where we operate.

The goal of this program is to provide people with intellectual or physical disabilities with a place to play sports, learn to play basketball, and train alongside other children and youth athletes in our youth academy.

After four years of operation and experience, and in response to the high demand for spots at organizations that serve children and youth with functional diversity, the Inclusive Basketball School is expanding its activities and doubling the number of hours and sessions dedicated to social interaction and training.
