For the second consecutive year, Gañafote Cup stops in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for the preliminary phase.

The preliminary phase was disputed by sixteen teams. MG.F won in the semifinals 3 to 1 against C.A. Huracán and A.A.Argentino JR won 3 to 0 against San Lorenzo. A.A.A. Argentinos Juniors was the winner and got the direct pass to Spain.

The preliminary phase was held at the facilities of the Tocalli Brothers, Alejandro and Martín, goalkeeping coach of the Argentine senior national team.
