Beas 1 - Gañafote Cup

Beas is a picturesque municipality located in the province of Huelva, Andalusia, with a rich history dating back to ancient times.

This Sevillian Gothic-Mudejar parish church of San Bartolomé (14th century) does not hide from the traveller the chapel of the hospital of Santa María de Gracia (1566). Beas marks his calendar between the Capeas of San Bartolomé the preparations for the Living Nativity Scene, open to the public at the end of Christmas.

At the Fuente de la Corcha, the Parish Temple organizes the dispersed urban space and hosts the celebrated Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Health in May. From the Parish to the Caseta, on the first of May, the day of the Holy Worker, Candón takes to the streets with the Fiestas de San José. Towards Clarines, on the Niebla road, the people of Beas celebrate the August pilgrimage, in the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Clarines, patron saint of the place.

WHAT TO SEE IN BEAS

The Living Nativity Scene in Beas is undoubtedly a Christmas symbol in the province of Huelva. With almost half a century of tradition, this nativity scene is the oldest in Andalusia, and is organised by the Brotherhood of Our Lady of the Clarines.
You can discover the precious “liquid gold” at the Campo de San Bartolomé cooperative, an important producer of olive oil, which was the first to be created in the province of Huelva for its commercialization.
